Note: the LSB renders latreuō here as "spiritual service of worship" — preserving both the service dimension and the worship connection. This is the heartbeat of latreuō: not singing to God, but living as those commissioned by God to serve Him in the world. Christ's sacrifice doesn't just forgive — it commissions. Cleansed from sin, the believer is empowered to offer holy service: priestly action from a purified heart, rooted in the new covenant. To rebuild any of these four in physical form was to misunderstand what the new covenant had accomplished. This framework helps explain why the early church's rejection of sacred buildings was not poverty or circumstance — it was theological conviction.
